reasons why i started blogging

1. i believe this is the beginning of the best part in my life.
2. after 18 years of no memories taken down literally, now will be the start of my collection.
3. in case i get Alzheimer's disease or dementia or i lose all my memory somehow.

ever wonder what to do or where to study after poly life?

well, i did wonder alot lately.
spent the whole afternoon yesterday looking googling "university" and came across websites like the prestigious Cambridge, Harvard etc, and viewing their engineering courses, i felt like going overseas for further studies is interesting. not to say that since secondary school, i have already started thinking that one day i will go overseas for further studies.

my place of choice happens to be London, known for its influence in arts, education, fashion and slowly gaining foothold on, food.
if i graduate from poly with good grades i would try to mail in my application to Cambridge for one of their engineering courses. http://www.cam.ac.uk/ , or any university in London whose degree is recognised by the engineering board. ah.. maybe i could get a scholarship *dreams*
i would like to take a chance to live in a different place and experience another culture while i'm young and owning to the fact that i could adapt pretty fast to different circumstances.
i want to see how independent i can be without my parents around all the time.
maybe i will apply for a summer school first (if there is one) to see if i can cope with the system.

also i'm planning to take IELTS (International English Language Testing System) which is provided by my school. but its too late to register for the intake as the deadline was 23jan07. i would also try to take SAT, a reasoning test, to ensure that when i'm applying for overseas university with my good grades, all this would be taken into consideration and *cross fingers* i would be accepted. yay!

hmm.. lets say if i didnt go overseas for further studies, nus/ntu would be the ideal choice. but personally, i still hope that i have the chance for overseas studies.

sometimes i really envy people who have the chance to go for overseas studies. they are more exposed to the different cultures and barriers ( i would love a challenge somehow) that we singaporeans wont encounter too much of it unless we are some sort of jet setters or coming from a rich family with a trust fund as deep as the ocean.
normal people like me will continue staying on this little island for the rest of our lives. if we ever want to do a sitcom about the lives of singaporeans, the title should go like this "days of boring lives" or "stuck on the little island" or "the red dot and the stucked" or "island-wrecked". not so funny eh? :/

i just started to have a rough idea on wad i want to do. planning, replanning or whatever you may call it. i finally decided that i will stick with engineering and not go do a business degree once i graduate from poly. it seems like a waste to throw away the 3 years i spend studying engineering which is a specialised course, and go do something that is a general course and waste a year in uni. after all, for my course, the business side would be covered when in year 3 providing i choose the module. have i mentioned how cool is my course? its cool as it lets us decide what modules we want to combine with during year 2 and 3. cool right?

in different parts of your life, priorities changes. now, its all about me, me, me, me, me.
