your light will shine when all else fades

Went out with Wei De on Sunday to sort of celebrate the end of exams. haha! as usual talked alot about random stuff and ate!
He brought me to Kushin-bo, an "authentic" or so they claim, a Japanese-style buffet restaurant situated opposite toy'r'us at Suntec City. MOVE over Sakae Sushi.
Had rows of sashimi, sushi, tempura, shabo shabo (that little steamboat with the paper thingy?), soba and of course the desert area! I could have just died and gone to heaven after seeing lots of green tea mochi balls and salmon sashimi. oh yeah, they had a free flow of snow crabs too :) It was fun dismantling the snow crabs and poking the flesh out of their spindly legs. But then again, it was kinda troublesome, so I just gave up another finishing half of a crab.
Started concentrating on the sashimi and raw stuff. Like that sea-shell thingy. It was much nicer than the snail like thingy which has no taste and was rubbery like.. =.=

Didnt get to try the mini-steamboat that Wei De had. But it looks pretty good from where I was sittting. His comment was that the stock is good and sweet. hmm.. have to go back again and try. haha!
Oh, and every hour, there'll be this voice and bell singing the jingle of Kushin-bo and most of the patrons there would get up and start rushing towards the teppanyaki section. It's the special offer time where the first 45 people in the queue would get some stuff that is not on the menu. The table next to us got a cheese-crayfish. Looks good but both of us didnt even bother to get up and queue for the food. Lazy and troublesome.
After deciding that we had enough sashimi and other stuff, we headed straight for the desert area. Stuff like ice cream, mochi ice cream, mochi balls, cheesecake, chocolate were available.
Left the place soon after as it was close to 9pm? Ah, for $40++ it was quite worth it. Im so going to go back there again. nmuahaha.

Woke up this morning with a very strong craving for fish. Realised that I have been choosing fish over chicken this few weeks. Chicken is nice.. but its still chicken. But for fish, there is like salmon, pomfret, sharks etc.
Walked over to NTUC to shop for the ingredients. Bought cauliflower, broccoli, carrots, lemons, snow peas and SALMON!! Took quite long to decide which piece of salmon to choose because I wasnt sure how much could I eat after buying so much vegetables.
Viola! Im glad I didnt overcook the salmon. So the sweet taste of it was preserved and i pan-fried it with garlic, a little bit of butter, a dash of black pepper and salt, and drizzle lemon juice all over it, including the vegetables which was cooked earlier. A very strong sweet-lemony taste. muahaha!
So there goes my first attempt to cook a salmon fillet. Still got about half of the fillet sitting in my fridge complete with the leftcover uncooked veggie.hmm..

okay, I know Im supposed to be still in the pits of mourning and whining about my laptop and posting up emo entries about it. hmm.. but whatever. Make do with what I have right now first and see how again. Maybe a miracle will happen and I'll pick up a $1000 bill right off the floor! woots! haha! =.=
Gargh, I hate to wash up after cooking. =.= Always tried to minimise the utensils and crockeries used. jeez.
Anyway, gotta head back to school in awhile more to hand in my passport and gym for a little. Rainy weather still hasnt clear up. Cant go for a swim which will be much kinder on my ankle.

:/ i really really need to get to a chinese sinseh to fix my ankle. It felt out of sorts when I was running on the threadmill and cycling. Could feel the sockets and the ankle bone sort of coming apart?
anyway, after that, went to look for flowers with Kenneth. Started talking about we should give guest singers and all potted plants as now we have a budget and potted plants are cheap. And I saw this really really really really CUTEE cactus!!!! see?????

Then we went to check out the flower section in this huge refrigerator type thingy. ah!!!!! I LOVE FLOWERS!!!!!!!
Flowers flowers flowers flowers! lots of roses!!! kinda like them. But my favourite right now are lilies! :) well, kinda sad that I couldnt see any pure white lilies.
